The Hardest Thing To Do

Of course I'm not just gonna give it right away. That'd make this a boring read. I'm going to put in a whole lot of adjectives and verbs creatively thought out to describe exactly what one feels when doing this particular sequence of actions, rarely performed by many. It's this mind bending, limb stretching, mental limits pushing, pain barrier breaking, ass hurting, barehands crocodile fighting, body wearying, physically draining, hand taxing, thigh numbing, psyche perspiring, soul drudging, power grinding, back breaking, torso drenching, chassis soaking, frame wetting ability to do burpees* be consistent, at anything. I left Google!

I left Google. I left Google!! :O Uff, that's taking a while to sink in. I walked around campus one last time, and the place is just full of memories. I spent exactly 6 years there. In one team. I took a project from proof of concept to production. And yet, I am as happy to leave as I was when I first joined! (read about how I felt when I got into Google  here .) What a full circle of emotion :D I have great things to say about Google, it really is a company that takes care of its employees. You get 3 meals a day, a gym and shower in every major city you travel to, colleagues from all around the world that become great friends, and social recognition from everyone you know. And yet, I chose to leave. Why, you ask? Well, we all want different things in different phases of our lives. How I view LLMs as Sept 2026

I’ve spent over $30k in tokens since the start of the year across Codex, Claude, and GLM. Here’s how I view LLMs as of September 2026. Two categories: Instructions-following models: Like Luna and Sonnet. I used to call these “dumb”. But that’s the wrong way to think about them. They just cannot make good “common sense” decisions. They’re workhorses for pennies. Luna especially, is hard to spend a lot on. If you make the core decisions up front, coding is auto-complete. Intent-understanding models: Frontiers like Astra and Fable. These are higher “common sense” models. These models (try to) understand the intent behind the question. Solving problems is about making the right tradeoff - these models tend to make the right tradeoff more often than the other models. These models know how to orchestrate instruction-following models prescriptively - in a way humans get too lazy to.
