Firebase | I can't stop saying *#%&!

Man man man!

I've been smiling like a fool staring at my screen the past 4 hours or so. And feel like shouting out loud every time I read more about the work they've done.

Firebase. Firebase. Firebase. Firebase. Firebase. Firebase. Firebase.

Fireflies in my stomach. This is too good to be true!

One product that does everything. After yesterday's Google I/O keynote, there were a whole lot of notifications to my developer account. A major one was Google backing Firebase, notifying developers to update analytics, cloud messaging, and ads display to Firebase.

What's Firebase?
A platform to build applications with no server side code, stores everything in JSON. Firebase handles it all for you. Similar to Parse, which declared shutdown early this year ('16), people that used it were literally on the street.
Yup. This happened to a whole lot of developers.
Including me. Startups too, including Social Cops.

For those who know what (and how awesome) Parse was, Firebase's backing by Google comes as a huge relief! Parse had one of the best documentation I've ever gone through, made it extremely easy to do a whole variety of server side implementations without server side code and was just beautiful.

What does Firebase promise?
Everything that comes from the start to end in the development cycle.
  • Authentication
  • Realtime Database
  • Cloud Messaging
  • Remote Config
  • Analytics
  • App Invites
  • Monetizing with AdMob
  • Crash Reporting
  • Test Lab for Android
Realize how powerful this is. Firebase claims to scale however big you ask it to, without you having to change anything in your code (of course, you have to deepen your pockets if you ask for too much :-P).

What next?
If this interested you enough, go here. And this is their github repo.
Code for web, Android and iOS. And guess what? They're a small group of less than 20 people. I'd really love to work with them.

And lastly.
Their new logo. Eye candy.

    1. As a suggestion, if you'd like to advertise your blog like this, read my post, comment on something you feel about what's written, and lastly put the link to your blog. That'd be a lot more effective :)

  2. One thing that I really like with this new googlyfied firebase is that now you can host your custom domain for free with them. Earlier to had to pay 5 bucks to do the same. They also have shifted their focus from web to mobile, now that is sad😞.

    1. Their focus from web to mobile is exactly why I'm in love with it :) Haha. The other good improvement is Admob. Improved ad revenue for some reason.
